Losing My Desire to Read

In my youth, ah, bygone youth, I read voraciously. I could handle an entire epic fantasy trilogy in a day. Whole days whiled by in the bliss of reading, and I loved every minute of it. Now I can't do it. Oh, if a book is one I've been really waiting for I can still devour it quickly enough, but I don't read nearly as much as I used to.
Strike that. I actually read more. It's what I read. In my day job, I'm a college English professor, which means I spend my time reading oodles of student essays. Mostly bad ones. Mostly ones that have a complete disregard for the rules grammar (Alas poor apostrophe, I knew him well, period.). Consequently, I really have no desire to read. I'm just too tired after staring and comment on student writing to pick up a book, no matter how good it is.
I don't have the time or energy. My eyes don't want to work right on the page. Fortunately, I found audio books via Audible. With the platinum plan I'm getting 2 books a month, and they frequently have specials. It's been a godsend. I can read again. I can learn and enjoy great books once again.
